Project Description

WELL WORTH THE WAIT – After waiting twenty years for just a kitchen renovation, this owner received the Gourmet Kitchen of her dreams and so much more!

The decision to remodel one room led to remodeling another, and by removing four walls separating the kitchen from the formal living room, dining room and family room, the open floor plan concept was realized and so appreciated.

The renovation specifics:

  • The removal of the two interior walls of the original living room (just inside the front door) allowed for an expansive dining area with wet bar and additional storage cabinets and drawers.
  • The wall partially separating the kitchen from the dining room was eliminated and a cozy area provided space for reading and conversation, or just relaxing next to the gas fireplace with cultured stone surround and custom designed mantle.
  • The imitation brick wall between the kitchen and family room addition, that was originally an outside wall, was demolished and more counter and storage space created.
  • The well-used family room “addition” received a make-over, by raising the ceiling, replacing the paneling with dry wall, and laying new carpet.

In the kitchen, a very large island was essential for family get-togethers. The tile back splash artistically accentuates the gorgeous Granite countertops and an abundance of under-cabinet and recessed LED lighting illuminates throughout.

There is a profusion of custom made glazed cabinetry, complete with soft close doors and drawers, which are all fully extended. The custom corner drawers and extra, conveniently placed outlets are true bonuses. The original, assorted types of flooring were replaced with prefinished natural oak.

The finished result is absolutely breathtaking and well worth the wait!
