Project Description

When we started this design process, it was the summer before the clients youngest child would start kindergarten this fall, the same child will start 2nd grade. One of the things I find is most exciting about this business is the uniqueness of every single job and every single client.

To say these clients were perfectionist is probably an understatement. I admired the amount of thought that went into every decision from the shade of white, to the shape of the handles on the drawers to the selection of veining in the marble/quartz top. I admired the patience it took to paint samples on the wall and live with them for a week or two to get just the right wall color. And in the end I think every single decision paid off.

This kitchen is everything the client wanted… from the two sets of trash cans to accommodate the trash created by three young boys, to the large, deep drawers used for easy access pantry storage, to the use of use of filler space to storage spices and sprinkles and the 36″ pro range that not only catches your eye when you walk in the room but is beyond functional for a family of five. The custom white paint on the cabinets and gray on the walls is just right no matter the time of day. The marblelook quartz tops are just what the client envisioned over 10 years ago when she started to dream of what her kitchen could be. The polished nickel pendants with a touch of white, tie in the cabinets, the faucet and other hardware perfectly.
Sometimes simple can be confused for basic, quick or easy. This kitchen is the perfect example of less is more and that a simple look can be the result of a well thought through design process.
